For this reason, bred ewe lambs will only be sold to shepherds who have already experienced at least one lambing season, or who are experienced with other livestock births. Our fertility guarantee does not extend to ewes under one year old.

Five Steps to Purchase Sheep from Ledgewood Farm Step 1: Ask Your Questions. As you peruse the sales list please be in touch with any questions that you have as you determine which sheep you might like to add. We are more than happy to email additional photos or information as requested by interested parties. You are also welcome to schedule a time to visit the farm to meet the sales animals in person. Step 2: Tell us Which Sheep you Want. The sooner you know, the more likely you are to get the ones you’re hoping for. Once you tell us which sheep you want we will mark them on the website as “Pending Deposit” Step 3: Send the deposit within one week. A minimum deposit of $125 per sheep is due to hold the sheep until payment is completed. The deposit is nonrefundable, but will be applied towards the overall cost of your sheep. Once we receive the deposit we will mark your sheep on our website as “Deposit Received.” (If the deposit is not received within the one week grace period the “Pending Deposit” will be removed and other interested buyers may stake a claim on the sheep… It may seem harsh, but it helps us to ensure that we hold sheep only for serious buyers.) Step 4: Schedule Pickup or Delivery. All breeding stock must be picked up or delivered during the month of September. We will make 2 delivery trips if needed within that window, one to Northern New England (VT, NH and ME) and another to Southern New England (MA, CT, RI). All delivery is at cost, please inquire. Step 5: Complete Payment. As soon as you pay the remaining balance on your sheep, they will be marked on our website as “Paid in Full”. Sheep will not be marked as “SOLD” until they have left our farm. Please note: If you are picking up your sheep, payment must be completed before they are loaded into your vehicle. In cases of delivery, payment must be completed before the sheep are unloaded at your property. |

“Chacha” Pedigree Polled white twin, carries solid, moorit and maybe black. A big, heavy and powerful girl out of a triplet ewe. Her fleece is dense with thel. Her build is great and her CHEST is particularly outstanding. Nice and broad in the rear, too... Did an effortless job with her twins this year. Her daughter will replaces her in the ewe pen. This is a really hard one to let go.

“Nebula” Pedigree Polled, solid black ewe, triplet. Carries moorit and spotting. Sired by full twin to Jager Farm’s Grand Champion Ram “Preston”, this triplet beauty is an exciting addition, brought in as a bred ewe winter ‘07. Overall she is nicely muscled and particularly good in the rear, wide and strong. Nice legs. Out of a great fleece line, too, she boasts a lovely thel-dense fleece. Despite being one of the smallest ewe s, Neb raised the largest lamb in the flock her yearling year. Throws gorgeous lambs. Two of her daughters are staying behind to maintain her influence on the flock.

“Moonspot” Pedigree A granddaughter of Jager’s “Red”, known for prolificacy (Red even threw a set of quads!) Moonie brings the meaty Thokki influence to the flock, and has the calmest, most friendly personality of all the ewes. She has a nice fleece, too! Her lamb with Romeo this spring is a gorgeous blocky boy who is growing FAST… Have been tempted to keep him...

“Jasmine” Pedigree Polled white ewe, single to ewe lamb mother. Carries solid, black, maybe moorit and spotting. Sturdy and Stocky from a milky, parasite resistant line and a very unique blend of AI sires. Best fleece out of her year’s lamb crop in terms of luster and fineness, although I wish she had a bit more thel. My only complaint on this one is her flighty temperament. Her son this year (sired by Romeo) has the best rear in the lamb flock.

Born in 2009 Polled black gray spotted twin Carries solid and moorit. Dam’s lambing record: (1,2,2,2) AI: 35% AI; Dalur, Flekkur, Hnykill, Hunn, Heli, Noi Romeo inherited great size and presence from his sire Sirius. And his fleece is gorgeous… Thel dense and full. He had a remarkable growth rate despite all the wet weather summer ‘09 which had us contending with higher parasite numbers than normal. I also love this maternal line. Not only is Greytl a great, doting mother, but she has a very relaxed temperament. I am always tempted to keep her lambs.
